Buléon

An easily accessible town in Gallo country

eglise-buleon (4)

A small town in Gallo country, Buléon is located on the passage of the old Roman road from Vannes to Corseul, a section of which remains in the cemetery. The old parish church was dedicated to St. Brigitte, the Irish abbess of Kildare, as evidenced by the listed cross in the old cemetery. The church was rebuilt in the 19th century and its bell tower in 1962. It houses a water tower supplying the town!

A mansion turned into a hotel

domaine-de-la-ferriere-buleon (4)

The main noble house of the parish is the seigneury of Ferrière. The façade and the outbuildings of the old manor of La Ferrière rise very close to the castle rebuilt in the 19th century. Today, it has become a beautiful hotel nestled in a vast park.

The Sainte Anne chapel, a 15th century jewel

chapelle-sainte-anne-buleon (5)

The beautiful listed chapel of Ste Anne can be visited in the village of the same name. This 15th century chapel has been a place of pilgrimage to Ste Anne, St Eloi and St Cornely since the Middle Ages. A beautiful fountain and a cross form a beautiful set with the chapel.
